I'm sorry but I find it fucking hilarious how everytime the Yankees sign someone that player IMMEDIATELY becomes a lifelong Yankees fan. I'm sorry, but a lot of these guys lately are around my age. Let me explain something to everyone: in the late 80s and early 90s the Yankees weren't winning shit. They had ZERO fans outside of New York. And honestly, at the time a lot of people in New York were Mets fans. The Mets had Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden during that era, two of THE hottest young stars of the eighties. They won A LOT. Say what you will but kids usually follow a team for one of two reasons: either it's their hometown team and they go to a lot of their games OR that team wins a lot and is therefore more popular. This means that either their few fans from that era grew up into awesome ballplayers that would eventually sign ridiculous contracts to play for a team that wasn't their hometown team when they were growing up but were inexplicably their "favorite" team, OR (and much more likely) they're fucking lying through their teeth. I'm just saying.

Just signed up for twitter. YAY! Still not completely sure what the point is, but I get bored easily and will sign up for random things like that. Let's see how long it lasts. From what I can ascertain, it's essentially like the update on Facebook, and that's the entire point. I'm wondering how our attention spans are dwindling so much, though. Not that many years ago, these here Live Journals were all the rage, and then it was MySpace, then FaceBook and now Twitter.
Eh, whatever....

I'm seriously getting fucking annoyed with the media's obvious bias against the Red Sox this postseason. With our local news here, I can deal with it , but when I watch a national broadcast where the announcers seem to be doing everything short of a "Fuck You, Red Sox (clap clap clapclapclap)" chant, it's gone a little far.
I understand that sports loves the underdog, but why were they not this way last year when we faced the Indians? And anyone that wants to say that Red Sox deserve this can go fuck themselves. I like to think myself a good sport when it comes to my team and I try to remain humble when it comes to wins, especially when it involves the team of one of my friends (except when it comes to the Yankees, 'cause fuck those guys....). I'm not exaggerating when I say that I received no LESS than 6 people call me after Tuesday's loss at Fenway in ALCS game 4 to rub in the fact that my team just lost. What the FUCK!?! One of these people was my brother whom I haven't spoken to since I moved into this new apartment...
I have never, NEVER called one of my friends to gloat about my team beating theirs in any game, much less a post-season game. I have called to discuss the game itself, talk over what their team could do to get back on track and wish them luck in the next game, but never to gloat and rub in the fact that their team has just been absolutely been destroyed in a championship game.
What have I done to deserve this treatment?? I am a proud Red Sox fan. I will continue to follow my team through thick AND thin. I am not a bandwagon jumper. I STILL have faith in my team. Yes, the Rays stand a chance to beat us this year. But that's still all they have. A chance. They have not won yet. And I hate to bring this up, as I know some of my friends are Tribe fans but I have a point to make, the Sox have come back from 3 -1 deficits before. Shit, they've come back from 3 - 0. Just ask the Yanks, they know....The fucking sports networks and reporters are acting like the goddamn series as over. Some even going so far as to call it the collapse of the Red Sox Dynasty (I'm personally loathe to the idea of calling it a goddamned dynasty after only two World Series wins in 4 years, but that's just me, I guess...) Do they no realize there is AT BARE FUCKIN' MINIMUM one more game to play. In Fenway. Against Matsuzaka. You know the guy who pitched a shutout against the Rays less than a week ago through 7 innings at Tropicana. So, no, it's not yet over. Not by a long shot.
And you know what. If they do come back to win this series? I'm not going to gloat. I'm not going to rub it in. I'm going to celebrate like I always do: briefly and quietly. Then I will begin to look forward to the next series on the road to the Championship. Because when it comes right down to it, it doesn't mean shit 'til you win the Series, not just the series.

So for the first time probably EVER the Arctic Circle and, indeed, the North pole itself could be iceless this summer.
And, amazingly, instead of going, "Holy SHIT! We need to fucking change some things immediately!" the world is fighting over who owns the area so they can use it for shipping routes and possibly even OIL DRILLING!!!
WHAT THE FUCK!? Do we NOT see a problem here?

So, as some of you already know, I quit smoking 3 days ago.
It's beginning to get to me a little at this point. I can feel that compulsion to smoke at times. I've been trying to keep myself busy in an effort to try and not think about that compulsion.
I've also been getting more irritable at work.
Work actually has been the biggest hurdle, as that's where I tended to smoke the most. Either when I had down time, or when I got annoyed. Two things that happen a lot where I work.
Anywho, gonna go now.
See ya.

This is a call to everyone that may read this.
Saturday, May 24th at 7PM Uberbot at the Winter Park Village
Huge fundraiser to help the 'Bot.
Uberbot is a comic book/art gallery/Japanese toy & video/all-around AWESOME store in Winter Park that is facing some rather ridiculous poltical bullshit that is not my place to get into, but they need to raise a certain amount of money by NEXT WEEK, thus they are having a HUGE fundraiser this coming Saturday. There are going to artists and more there doing what they can to help out this little haven of cool, so why not stop in? I don't want anyone to think that they can't help out either. Just because you don't have lot of money just sitting around in stacks taking up space does not mean that you can't help. Even if you can only afford to purchase some Pocky or a strawberry or green tea flavored Kit-Kat or even just a bumper sticker, EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS.
I'm sorry that I busted out the larger font, but DAMMIT, this is important to me.
Steve (the owner) has pretty much his entire life invested in this place and doesn't deserve to lose it, especially not this way.
So, once again, PLEASE stop by and help out in ANY way you can. If you can't stop in on Saturday, stop by on Friday or Sunday and do what you can.
DAMN THE MAN, SAVE THE 'BOT!!!

So, Iron Man pulled in a reported $100.7 Million domestically and $201 million worldwide placing it at the bottom of the top ten highest grossing opening weekends. I'll be honest, I was expecting it to open at around $50 to $60 million tops. Shows what I know.

Bored.
Growing increasingly lonely as the days and months go by. It's been almost three years since I've been in a relationship. Almost three years since I've went on a date, had sex or even kissed someone. I miss the companionship that a relationship provides more than anything. The kind of companionship that you can't get from a friend, no matter how close that friend may be. Not that I'm trying to romanticize (no pun intended) relationships in any way, just trying to express how I feel, even though the english language is failing me in those regards at the moment.
I'll be honest, it's not like I'm helping my problem. I don't really go out at all. I don't really remember the last time I went to a bar or even a club. It's been several months at least. I just find no real joy in going out to a place where I find myself loathing ninety percent of the patrons. Let's be honest, it's sort of difficult to meet people when you don't really leave the house much.

Pretty much fully in the new new apartment. Had to move everything from one unit to another in one fell swoop. It kind of sucked. Haven't actually finished moving everything, but going to finish up tomorrow, as we were all just too spent to continue.
I've been trying to become more active as of late and to eat a bit more nutritiously. I'm trying to get into better shape. I know that I need to lose weight. If for no other reason than I'd like to not die when I'm 40. I'd also like have sex again at some point in my life, and I feel being in better shape would greatly increase the chances of that happening again....
Went to WrestleMania last Sunday. It was a pretty good show, but I will never buy field seats again, as about 2/3 of the ring was obstructed from my view thanks to the sat they had erected to keep the ring dry. Wouldn't have been so upset, but I spent over 500 bucks on the damn tickets, so yeah, I was a bit displeased....
Ok, I have nothing further to say, so I'm going to sleep.

So, haven't posted in a while.....
Just to start things off, if there any weird spelling errors in this post, I would like to preemptively apologise, as I am on my parents computer and they have one of those weird ass curved keyboards that I hate.
The reason I am on said computer is because I have already taken my router down and boxed up for a move from this house which is happening sometime in the next week or so. "Where to?" you ask? To live in the (not quite) luxurious Mission Bay Apartment Complex, where I will be cohabitating with my best friend, Axl, and his charming girlfriend, Jessica.
Also, coming up next week is MegaCon 2008, or as I lovingly like to refer to it: NerdFest '08. I will be attending on Saturday, so if anyone else is gonna be there, lemme know, maybe we can meet up and hang out.
At the end of this coming month (March 30th, to be exact) is WrestleMania XXIV (24 for those not fluent in Roman numeralization), which is going to be a blast (Or at least, it better be as I dropped over $500 to see this damn thing). The Saturday before that is the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, where Ric Flair will be inducted. There's also rumours that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may appeear to induct his grandfather (High Chief Peter Miavia) and father (Rocky Johnson). I'm really hoping to be able to secure some tickets for this, but they go on sale on Saturday and I'm lacking in the funds department at the moment, and since the tickets are $24 - $54, I may not be able to afford them.
Also, that same weekend, my good buddy, Aaron will be entering wedded bliss with his fiance and best friend Missy. I'm going to be trying my damnedest to attend, especially since I won't have to get dressed up (and I suspect if I did get dressed up they would both kick my ass. Aaron's punk rock, you have no idea.) but, as I informed them already WrestleMania's taking precedence, as I dropped WAY too much money not to attend. So, if I can only get one day off that weekend, I may have to miss, though I really don't want to.
In addition that very same weekend, Ring Of Honor will be having some shows in town. For those who don't know, or might not care, ROH is, arguably, THE best wrestling promotion in North America at the moment. Their product relies more on the in-ring work of it's wrestlers and less on the storyline/soap-opera elements that ,unfortunately, permeate the WWE and (to a more insane degree) TNA. I'm going to be fighting to try and see one of their shows if possible, but as that weekend is (as evidenced by all of the above) extremely packed wih activities, they are on the bottom of my list of "things to do", which is a tad ironic, as any other time that would be at the top.
Also in March (the 17th to be more specific) is St. Patrick's Day. Which I hate. Why? 'Cause it's racist. What do American's do on St. Patty's Day? They drink. Heavily. To excess. Why? "Because that's what the Irish do!"
Fuck you....
By the way, if anyone has either a couch, a coffee table or even a dining room table that they want to part with, please contact either myself, Axl or Jessica, as we will be needing to procure these items in the nearish future.
Oh, and if anyone wants to get rid of a Wii, I'd take that as well.
Man, I want a Wii......
